Fire in Liopetri damages house

A prefab house in Liopetri was damaged by a fire shortly after midnight on Wednesday.

The fire was detected at 00.15am in the Limnia area of Liopetri.

The house is owned by a 44-year-old man from Deryneia who during the day on Tuesday carried out work to insulate the roof of the residence.

The damage has been estimated at €5,000 by the owner.

Investigations into the causes of the fire are ongoing while the scene has been cordoned off and is being guarded.
