Fire destroys Larnaca kindergarten (updated)

A kindergarten was set alight shortly after midnight on Sunday in Larnaca’s Phaneromeni area.

Two fire trucks battled the flames but they could not save the building.

Initial indications showed that the fire had been set deliberately.

Police said the kindergarten manager’s husband had financial disputes with people from abroad.

In June, his car had been targeted by unknown individuals who fired shots at it.
