Saloon car registrations up 12% in August

The number of private car registrations rose 12 per cent in August to 2,966 compared with the respective month of 2017 mainly on second hand imports, the statistical service said.

In the first eight months of the year, saloon registrations rose an annual 17 per cent to 28,123, Cystat said in a statement.

The number of new saloon cars registered in August was 720 and in January to August 9,630, up 2.1 and 2.7 per cent compared to a year before respectively, Cystat said. The registration of used saloons rose 16 per cent and 26 per cent to 2,246 and 18,493 also respectively.
