Bringing the traditions of four countries together

The traditions of four countries will be brought together in a series of concerts by the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (CySO) called Scandinavian Sentiments.

The event will showcase two Finnish composers, Uuno Klami and Jean Sibelius as well as Norwegian composer Edward Grieg, Austrian composer Mozart and a Cypriot soprano. It will feature the Cyprus premiere of Klami’s Cobblers on the Heath in addition to that of Sibelius’ Arioso, op. 3. Also included in the evening will be Grieg’s Solveig’s song from Peer Gynt and Mozart’s Symphony no. 35 in D major.

CySO presents around 30 different programmes of regular evening concerts, community outreach concerts and educational concerts in all cities of Cyprus. The orchestra performs a variety of musical genres to a constantly expanding and loyal audience, ranging from the classical masterpieces of all periods, operatic and ballet music to light orchestral music, orchestrated art and folk songs, film music and jazz.
