Remands after failure to stop for police check (updated)

Two people were remanded in custody for four days by Limassol district court on Sunday after failing to stop for a police check on Saturday night.

Members of the force stopped a car being driven by a 33-year-old with a 35-year-old passenger, both from Limassol.

When the police flagged him down, the driver initially failed to stop and attempted to flee.

A following check of the car found 43g of a dried green substance thought to be cannabis, 8g of cannabis resin, 2.5g of cocaine and a set of scales.

Both were arrested.
