Remand renewed for murder suspect

Fatih Cıkrıkcı is suspected of stabbing his ex-girlfriend 13 times

A court in the north on Monday renewed for another eight days the remand of Fatih Cikrikci, who is believed to have brutally stabbed to death his ex-girlfriend, Gulbahar Ulutan, 13 times on October 31.

Authorities also arrested another two men, aged 35 and 39, who are believed to have helped Cikrikci escape after murdering Ulutan at the house in Kioneli where she worked.

The two alleged accomplices were released on Monday under the condition that they present themselves twice weekly to a police station.

The two men were also required to pay the sum of 5,000 Turkish lira each as a financial guarantee, as well as 100,000 Turkish lira as personal warranty.

Cikrikci was arrested by authorities in the north on November 2 after he was found in the industrial area of Yerolakkos village.
