Police arrest man in beating incident

A 39-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday morning in Famagusta after a woman was found beaten and unconscious in a street in Paralimini.

The woman was found at around 2.30am and was taken to Famagusta hospital where she was treated for head injury and bruises to various parts of her body. She also had a broken tooth, police said.

After she regained consciousness she was released at her request.

Police later arrested a 39-year-old man after securing evidence implicating him in the incident.
