President Nicos Anastasiades is in Paris on Sunday to take part in commemorations to mark 100 years since the end of WWI.
The ceremony will be attended by over 80 heads of state and leaders of international organisations from around the world. These will include US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Germany’s Chancellor Merkel, Turkish President Tayyep Erdogan, Secretary general of the United Nations Antonio Guterres and President of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker.
Anastasiades went to Paris from Helsinki where he was taking part in the EPP congress following a personal invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron.
In addition to taking part in the ceremony at the Arc de Triomphe, Anastasiades will also attend an official lunch for heads of state hosted by Macron.
He will also take part in the Paris for Peace forum which will be addressed by Marcon, Merkel and Guterres. During this forum each leader will donate a book for a Library for Peace.
