Rediscovering Cape Greco through colouring

With a desire to get closer to the local landscape, nature and wildlife, comes a different kind of book, re-introducing Cyprus’ wonders to both adults and children.

Cape Greco is an area of stunning natural richness and beauty. Introducing its treasures to the public became the focal point of a collaboration between BirdLife Cyprus and Melissa Hekkers, the creator behind the popular mandala colouring books series. The result… a third mandala book: My Cape Greco Mandala Colouring Book. The book will be presented on December 5 at ARTos Foundation in Nicosia.

My Cape Greco Mandala presents 11 mandala drawings inspired by Cape Greco’s rich wildlife. The book introduces its readers to some of the amazing birds, plants and mammals of the area, from the gorgeous Bee-eater with its vibrant plumage to the endangered Monk Seal, with its diving abilities.

Through the unique practice of colouring in, readers can learn more about these 11 species and their relationship to Cape Greco and Cyprus. Each mandala is accompanied by characteristics and fascinating information about the species it represents and is sure to thrill young fans and adults.

The objective of the book is to bring people closer to the natural beauty of the island, to raise awareness around the wildlife and to promote the importance of biodiversity and nature conservation in Cape Greco and beyond.
