Fire in Akamas burns around six hectares

A fire in the Akamas peninsula burned around six hectares of wild shrub

The blaze broke out at around 8am in the area of Lara, on the edge of the state forest.

It was put out some three hours later after burning around six hectares of wild shrub, and olive trees.

Over 60 firefighters with 11 engines took part in the effort.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
