Man arrested for driving stolen car

Police arrested a man who was driving a stolen car on Thursday afternoon after the 28-year-old resident of Nicosia was stopped at the Ayios Dometios checkpoint at 5.40pm

The theft of the car, a hatchback worth €4,000, had been reported stolen shortly after midnight on Thursday morning.

The owner had parked the vehicle in Larnaca on Wednesday at 4pm and when he returned at 11.30pm he discovered the car was gone.

The suspect is being detained pending further investigations.
