Driver arrested over the limit, attempts to flee

A 58-year-old man was arrested at 2:30am Saturday morning in Paphos after police stopped him for an alcotest and he attempted to flee the scene.

According to police, the man was stopped by officers and given an alcotest, which showed 145μg, instead of the allotted 22μg.

The officers then asked him to conduct the final test, but the man then attempted to flee the scene. The 58-year-old attempted to move his car forward and back, but ended up hit a plant at the side of the road.

Police arrested the man and are continuing their investigations.
