Man remanded for allegedly shooting his son

A 64-year-old man from the Paphos district who allegedly shot his 44-year-old son during  an argument on Saturday, was remanded on Sunday for eight days.

The man is being investigated for attempted murder. The son, who was injured in the left shoulder and arm, is currently in hospital. His condition is not considered serious.

Police said that the incident occurred at approximately 3pm on Saturday at a village in the Paphos district, when the 64-year-old allegedly shot his son with a hunting rifle.

The 44-year-old was transferred to Paphos  general hospital, while the father was arrested.
