No_body for everybody

Trying to think of something to do this weekend that isn’t seething with festive vibes? Seek refuge and inspiration at the 10th NO_BODY dance festival, organised by Dancehouse Lefkosia and Dance Gate Lefkosia.

Earning the EFFE Label 2017-2018 of the Europe for Festivals programme, NO_BODY marks its place on the map of European festivals and invites dance and arts lovers to join it.

Celebrating 10 years, this year’s edition continues the emerging presentation style it adopted last year, a style which was loved and appreciated by the 18 artistic groups that participated, as well as by the public.
Its new persona has been branded ‘no_body festival / MOVING ON!’ and is split in two parts; performance and move 5. The performance aspect is quite self-explanatory as it entails group performances with the participation and collaboration of choreographers, dancers and other creatives who focus on body movements. Move 5 is a new format, showcasing the artists’ ability in five-minute segments, centred on the idea of body and movement.

The first activity will take place on December 1 with a performance by Ioannis Mandafounis and Brice Catherin from 2pm until 5pm, with the rest of the performances taking place at 7.30pm. On the second day of the festival, presenting the Move 5 concept, performances will begin at 7.30pm.

The event is taking place under the auspices of the Nicosia Municipality with the support of the Cultural Services of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
