Driver arrested six times over the limit

A driver six times over the legal alcohol limit crashed his car into another vehicle in Strovolos on Wednesday afternoon.

Around 4pm, the 57-year-old man hit the back of a car while he was driving on Kyriakos Matsis avenue.

Both cars were damaged but no one was injured.

An initial alcotest showed a reading of 135μg instead of the allowed 22μg. When the test was repeated the level was still 124μg.

The driver, a resident of Nicosia, was arrested.
