A 36-year-old woman and two men, 52 and 60, who were arrested in connection with human trafficking for the purpose of prostitution in Limassol on Wednesday are due to appear in Limassol district court later on Thursday.
The arrests took place on Wednesday evening during a joint operation by Limassol police and the office for combatting human trafficking. A total of 14 apartments were searched in three different parts of the city.
Another woman, 31, was arrested for illegally staying in Cyprus, while four women who are considered to be potential victims of trafficking were taken to police headquarters for further investigations.
Cash to the value of €1,640, a number of mobile phones as well as four grammes of cannabis were seized as part of the operation.
