Simulated air crash exercise taking place on Tuesday

File photo: Previous drill

An exercise simulating a crash of an aircraft during landing will take place at Larnaca airport on Tuesday morning between 8am and 10am.

The exercise, which takes place every two years, is organised by airport operator Hermes together with the civil aviation department.

Police, the fire services, the control tower, medical services, the immigration department, civil defence and others will participate.

No actual landing will take place, police announced, therefore there is no need for the public to be concerned by the presence of the many different services.
