UN envoy Jane Holl Lute will be meeting the leaders of the island’s divided communities on Sunday and Monday, it was announced on Friday.
Lute is scheduled to meet President Nicos Anastasiades on Sunday morning and Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci the next day at 10am.
The UN envoy is expected to arrive on the island on Friday evening.
Lute is meeting all the parties involved in the Cyprus peace process with the aim of establishing the terms of reference for the resumption of negotiations.
She is expected to consult head of the United Nations peace force in Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar and other UN officials before her meetings with the two leaders.
On Thursday, she met Turkish Foreign minister Mevlut Cavusoglou in Ankara and Greek Alternate Foreign Minister Giorgos Katrougalos in New York the previous day.
President Anastasiades is currently in Brussels attending the European Council summit. He is scheduled to return early on Saturday.
