Man remanded after alleged rape

A 43-year-old man was remanded for six days on Saturday in connection with the alleged rape earlier in the week of a 32-year-old woman in Paphos.

The man was arrested after the 32-year-old reported that she was raped by two men last Monday. She told police she was out walking on December 10 when a vehicle with two men inside approached her.

They allegedly told her to get into the car and when she refused forced her to get inside.

The men then drove to a remote location where they raped her, she said.

The woman told police she had recognised one of the two men whom she had met the night before.
