Woman falls of cliff while taking photos near Kykkos (Updated)

A woman plunged 30 metres off a cliff in the Kykkos area on Sunday while taking photos, police said.

She was said to be in criticial condition Sunday evening.

The 66-year-old lost her balance while trying to take the photos at around 12.30pm.

Due to the inaccessibility of the area and bad weather conditions, the police helicopter Akritas was dispatched to the area.

The rescue crew, using a special rescue carriage, lifted the woman and transferred her to the General Hospital in Nicosia, police said.
