Aydin Denktash hospitalised in critical condition (updated)

The wife of former Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash, Aydin, has been hospitalised in critical condition in the north suffering from pneumonia.

Aydin Denktash, 86, is being treated in the intensive care of a Nicosia hospital since Tuesday. She had been admitted on Tuesday night after suffering chest pains.

Chief doctor Bulent Dizdarli said her condition was critical and she had been placed on a ventilator. He said Denktash was being treated for various health issues and her condition was critical.
