Conference looks at future of banking

In the days of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency, it comes as no surprise that a Digital Banking & Payments Conference is taking place for the very first time in Cyprus. Happening on the last day of January, it’s set to cover all things of online finance there is to know.

For those who aren’t sure what this entails, the conference will focus on the requirements of regulatory compliance, such as PSD2, the dynamic development of the new Payments landscape and the Open Platforms as driving forces for the adoption of financial solutions, services and channels through a wider range of cutting-edge technologies, leading to a new reality for Digital Banking, while exploring the challenges, opportunities and partnerships in the new era for the Banking Sector.

Open platforms allow the exchange of personal data and bank account information as well as the activation of cross-industry and cross-border transactions. PSD2 and other regulations mark the requirements for a new customer-centric model for banks with new capabilities, mainly through mobile services, providing consumers with lower service costs, flexibility and additional benefits.

Presented by Net-Info, this one-day event in Nicosia is expected to bring together high-profile executives, specialists in different areas of digital banking, Fintech, investors, thought leaders and innovators, as well as high-tech gurus in the field of new banking services. If you’re a corporate strategist, a payment provider, or a chief digital officer, this conference might be for you.

Organisers Business Communications and Dias Media Group make it out to be a “great opportunity to synthesise modern trends and knowledge, best practices, research on bridging innovative plans and solutions through state-of-the-art technologies to highlight the potential, challenges and empowerment prospects of the banking sector.”

Six speakers will take the Filoxenia stage, addressing their area of expertise. Banking experts, global consultants and solutions experts will share their knowledge and insights with the audience.

The day will be split into three sessions. The first will address compliance with regulatory guidelines, strategic designs and high-tech growth factors to digital banking, second, will take a look at the emerging Fintech Ecosystem and how banks respond to opportunities for digital transformation and the final session will be on changing customer culture and behaviour towards banks.
