Police arrest two with fake IDs

Police arrested two people, aged 42 and 35, on Friday in Paphos, after they were found to be in possession of fake IDs, police said on Saturday.

According to authorities, the two were stopped for a check in Paphos on Friday afternoon, and both were found to be in possession of fraudulent identity cards.

The cards were examined by the Immigration Service, who determined that they entered and have been residing in the Republic of Cyprus illegally.

Police said that during questioning both allegedly admitted to possessing a fake ID.

They were remanded in custody.
