State land to build new animal shelter in Paralimni

Agriculture Minister Costas Kadis visiting the existing animal shelter in Paralimni on Saturday

The state will be giving land for the creation of a modern animal shelter in Paralimni, Agriculture Minister Costas Kadis said on Saturday.

In a statement after visiting the existing animal shelter, Kadis said that he had the opportunity to discuss with volunteers that work there and the town’s mayor, Theodoros Pyrillis discussed the conditions the animals were kept in. He said a new space needed to be created due to the increased number of stray animals.

Kaids said that a new shelter would be built on land given by the state, and that it would function as a regional centre.
