Two boys arrested after moped-stealing spree

Two minors, aged 14 and 15, were arrested in Paralimni on suspicion of being involved in the theft of four mopeds.

According to police, between January 12 and 19 Paralimni police investigated four complaints of moped theft.

Following information received on Saturday officers spotted two of the stolen mopeds being ridden by two youths.

As soon as they were approached by officers the two youngsters fled, leaving the mopeds at the scene. The vehicles were taken to the police station and identified by their owners.

Later on Saturday one of the boys went to the police station and in the presence of his guardian, admitted to the theft of seven mopeds. The second boy was then picked up after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
