Ocean dinosaurs come to life

Extinct approximately 66 million years ago, the animals that once ruled the planet come to life again in a unique exhibition opening on Saturday called Dinosaurs of the Ocean. Brought to Cyprus by the Hellenic Bank, three years after the Living Dinosaurs exhibition, this time the public is invited to meet and listen to the dinosaurs of the ocean. The exhibition focuses on water dinosaurs and other big creatures that crossed oceans from Asia to the Atlantic millions of years ago.

The exhibition consists of over 15 different kinds of robotic creature in real-life sizes which reach up to 16 metres. These Ocean Dinosaurs were created by the Argentine palaeontologists Dr Sebastian Asengeguy and Dr Adrian Giacchino. With movement, sounds, textures and colours, Dinosaurs of the Ocean aims to offer a glimpse into the life of these enormous animals, and promises to be as authentic as it can get.

It is set out to be an interactive, entertaining and informative exhibition, suitable for all age groups, from your dino-obsessed six-year old to your grandmother. Those interested in the development of marine life from the prehistoric era until today will also find several points of interest.

To create a fully immersive experience, a playful and simultaneously educative walkway has been developed by animatronics that takes you among these powerful sea creatures.

Visitors will have the opportunity to discover how surprising the ancient world of the oceans was and discover the similarities and differences between modern marine animals and their ancestors, as well as the similarities and differences between terrestrial and aquatic dinosaurs.
