Teen arrested after climbing onto school roof

Police arrested a teenager who allegedly broke into a school in Paphos after finding him on the roof of the building on Sunday evening.

According to police, the alarm system of the gymnasium sounded at 4pm and officers found a door had been broken but nothing was stolen.

The alarm went off again at 8pm, and this time the aluminium door of the cleaners’ room had been forced open, there had been an attempt at opening some of the classroom doors and a bunch of keys was missing.

The 16-year-old teenager reportedly admitted breaking into the cleaners’ room and attempting to steal from the school’s canteen.

The keys were later found in the school’s yard.
