A minute with Nefeli Tsiouti Sports Massage Therapist

Where do you live?
Mostly a traveller, physically and mentally, but I currently live with my dog in Nicosia

Best childhood memory?
I remember the moment my parents gave me my first bike, the effort and persistence of trying to manage to coordinate the movements, balance and move forward

What’s your favourite dish? What food would you really turn your nose up to?
Being a vegetarian, I love lasagne with spinach and cheese. Anything too fried is not my cup of tea

What did you have for breakfast?
A rich bowl of oats, Weetabix, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, goji berries, acai powder, coconut slices, honey and coconut milk

Would you class yourself as a day or night person? What’s your idea of the perfect night/day out?
I love waking up early in the morning and working/getting things done with. I love going out/hanging out with friends/relaxing in the night. I wake up early, and sleep late. I’m usually deprived of sleep, by choice of enjoying every moment alive, but also by working a lot, by choice as well.

Best book ever read?
The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield. This book changed my life, my perspective, it triggered me to see things in the most positive way possible

Favourite film of all time?
Not a screen/tv person, so this is hard to say. I usually prefer using my time in other more active ways

Best holiday ever taken? What’s your dream trip?
I went to Milos island in Greece in 2017 with my friends from Greece. It was my first holiday in nine years, so I felt blessed every moment of it. Dream trip is probably somewhere with not too much planning, following the path of what occurs in the moment.

What music are you listening to in the car at the moment?
I listen to Akis Pharmakalidis jazz show, sometimes more mainstream radio, and when I need to think I listen to Metal music CDs (yes, I still use CDs)

What is always in your fridge?
Wine, Salad and coconut/soya milk

Dream house: rural retreat or urban dwelling? Where would it be, what would it be like?
A place with very easy and fast access to the city, but more embedded in nature. I don’t get along with car horns, sirens etc.

If you could pick anyone at all (alive or dead) to go out for the evening with, who would it be?
Normally, I would say my boyfriend. But if it is with someone I don’t usually spend time with, it would be choreographer Marina Abramovic. I’d give anything for a conversation with her.

If the world is ending in 24 hours what would you do?
Sit down and finish the articles I have to write up and send them for publication, before the data I collected is gone forever. And also kiss my mum and dad.

What is your greatest fear?
Autoimmune diseases, when the body attacks its very own cells

Tell me a joke…
I never memorise jokes, I find them either macabre, or too far-fetched (or not too funny). However, it always depends who is narrating them.
