Two Limassol residents aged 21 and 22 were found by the drug squad on Friday afternoon to be in the possession of a total of 37 grammes of cannabis and cash amounting to €2,360, police said.

The two men were stopped by the drug squad in a car driven by the 21-year-old, with the 22-year-old in the passenger seat. They attempted to flee on foot, but were caught by officers.

The 21-year-old was found to be carrying 9g of cannabis and €1,100 in cash, while another €1,260 was found on the 22-year-old.

The younger man’s car was then searched, where the drug squad found another 24g of cannabis and a grinder containing traces of cannabis, as well as a half-smoked joint, they said.

The car belonging to the 22-year-old was also parked at the scene, which was also searched after the owner gave his written consent. Another 4g of cannabis was found.
