Two men were injured on Saturday night, one critically, when they were attacked by two others from the same country who also stole money and a mobile phone from one of them.
According to police, at around 9pm the two men, from India one a 27-year-old workers the other a 22-year-old student, were taken to Larnaca general hospital in a private car.
The two were examined by on duty doctors who said the 27-year-old had slight bleeding on the brain in addition to multiple other wounds on his head. The 22-year-old also had head wounds and a broken nose.
Due to the seriousness of his condition, the older man was taken by ambulance to Nicosia general hospital, where he had been kept in the neurosurgery ward, where doctors have described his condition as critical but stable.
The 22-year-old was kept in for treatment in the surgical ward in Larnaca.
The 22-year-old told police that shortly before 9pm on Saturday while they were walking along Filiou Tsigarides street in Larnaca two other Indian men attacked them.
He said the two men stole €1,600 and a mobile phone from him and then ran off.
He scene was closed off and police took several items from it on Sunday morning as evidence which have been sent off for testing.
