Three cars damaged by fire in two separate incidents

A fire likely caused by arson destroyed one car and badly damaged another in Limassol early on Tuesday.

The vehicles belonging to a 48-year-old and a 49-year-old man were parked in an apartment block in Limassol when the fire broke out at 1.30am.

Investigating officers found a canister with traces of flammable matter at the scene.

It seems the motives of the arsonists were personal differences.

Earlier, at 11pm on Monday, the car owned by a 57-year-old woman in Ayios Tychonas in the Limassol district burst into flames.

The fire started in the engine in front of the vehicles. The causes are not yet clear.
