Anastasiades has phone call with May on Brexit

Time is running for Britain and the EU to reach an agreement on Brexit

President Nicos Anastasiades had a telephone conversation on Saturday afternoon with British Prime Minister Teresa May on Brexit.

According to a written statement by Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou, Anastasiades and May exchanged views on Brexit. The two heads of state focused mainly on how to ensure  smooth conditions post Brexit.

Nicosia informed the UK government earlier in the week that in the case of a no-deal Brexit, British citizens currently residing in Cyprus will be able to continue residing and enjoying the same rights as provided for in Britain’s withdrawal agreement with the EU.
