Caught in between two seasons, post-Christmas and before the onset of spring with its colourful carnival and Easter celebrations, February can be a bit quiet compared to other months. But if you’re apprehensive of the start of the week and not ready to let the weekend go, there’s one more event to spice up your Sunday night.
Newly-formed band Trio Misterioso will play contemporary music with elements of blues, jazz and funk tonight at Limassol’s Mason Bar.
With a sound that seems to be fresh and experimental, Trio Misterioso play a mixture of original compositions and arrangements of popular songs of this era, approaching them through improvisation with emphasis on a strong thematic melody, while being faithful to the individuality of each song.
As the band’s name suggests, Trio Misterioso is comprised of three musicians: guitarist Ermis Michail, bassist Andreas Rodosthenous and drummer George Koulas. Those following the island’s music scene will have probably heard their names before and may even have seen them play live, together or individually, across Cyprus.
All three have played at venues and festivals locally and some have even released albums. Now, as part of their latest musical project together, the band will perform at one of Limassol’s most musically active bars.
