Within the Cyprus Oscar Wilde Festival, Prozak café will host an art and crafts exhibition of works inspired by the life of this Irish poet and playwright.
“Art never expresses anything but itself,” Wilde wrote in his essay The Decay of Lying and so artists with different references and from various fields come together for the Made for Oscar exhibition to express the impact of the great Irish artist’s life and work left on their artistic endeavours.
Illustrators, ceramists, doll constructors, painters and other creatives take part in the show in one of the warmest exhibition spaces of the capital. Made for Oscar will include pieces by Adi Atassi, Chloe Finn, Annie Damianou, Souzana Petri, Εrmina Emmanouel, Charitini Kyriakou, Katerina Attalidοu, Kiwie and Diodora Jewellery.
Along with panel discussions, film screenings and childrens workshops, the exhibition adds its own artistic touch to the festival.
Running from March 1 to 6, with a break on March 3 and 4, the public is invited to discover the creations of the artists inspired by Wilde’s legacy. If blown away by some of the artwork, the art crafts will be available for sale.
So welcome March with a drink, a browse through another kind of group exhibition, while admiring the cosy interior of Prozak.
