Three arrests after man attacked in Ormidia

Two men have been remanded in custody while a third is under arrest after a man was left in serious condition in hospital after he was beaten up on Monday afternoon in Ormidia.

Police initially arrested two people aged 17 and 21 in connection with the attack, before arresting a third on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old and 21-year-old were remanded for six days on Tuesday by the Famagusta district court, where the third suspect is expected to appear on Wednesday.

The injured man, 24, reported that around 5.30pm three people who are known to him attacked him and hit him with pieces of wood in his home.

He sustained various head injuries and was transferred to Nicosia general hospital from Larnaca hospital due to the severity of his condition.

After he told police who attacked him the arrests were made.
