Teen caught for dangerous driving

Police on Saturday arrested a teenager caught driving dangerously in Larnaca.

The 17-year-old youth was arrested after he had failed to stop at a police signal at around 1.30am.

The teen accelerated in a bid to avoid the check but officers chased him in their patrol car, police said.

At some point, he lost control of his car and crashed into the patrol car. He was detained and officers found he had other passengers in the car, all minors.

The driver was taken to a police station where he was charged in the presence of his father.
