Police launch seat-belt campaign

Police will launch their second road safety campaign of the year on Monday, checking for the use of seat-belts and child seats.

The campaign aims at increasing awareness of drivers and passengers about the use of seat-belts and special car seats for children, in an effort to reduce the number of serious and fatal injuries sustained in car crashes.

Of the 24 drivers and passengers killed in car accidents in 2018 only three were wearing their seat-belts, the police said.

The campaign will continue until 17 March.
