Cyprus’ new museum is expected to be ready by June 2024 at a cost of €83m, it was announced on Monday, as pen to paper was put on the contracts.
The competition for the construction of the museum, which will be located at the vacant site of the old Nicosia general hospital, will be announced in November 2020.
The first stage of the construction is expected to finish at the end of 2022. The second stage, which will include interior work, will be completed by June 2014.
The international archictectural competition was won by Theoni Xanthi, Gerasimos Zakynthinos and Thodoris Androulakis.
