UAE embassy wishes luck to Cyprus Special Olympics athletes

The UAE embassy in Nicosia hosted a reception to honour the Cypriot special Olympics delegation, who will heading soon to Abu Dhabi to participate in the Special Olympics world games.

The athletes will represent Cyprus in different sports like basketball, bowling, cycling, Artistic Gymnastic, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Athletics and swimming.

The event will take place from March 14 to 21.

Ambassador Sultan Ahmed Al Suwaidi thanked all the personnel who worked hard to make this participation happen and wished all the athletes good luck in their competitions and an enjoyable trip to UAE.

The Special Olympics world games movement was founded over 50 years ago.

Over 7,000 athletes with intellectual difficulties from over 170 countries are set to compete in a series of sports events held across the seven Emirates
