Woman bites officer in ID dispute

A woman was arrested on Tuesday evening in Larnaca after biting a police officer.

According to police, members of the immigration department carried out a check on illegal employment at a restaurant in the Finikoudes area of Larnaca.

When they asked the 50-year-old employee, a foreigner legally residing in Cyprus, for her papers, she refused to hand them over and at some point bit the police officer’s hand.

The officer was treated at Larnaca hospital before being discharged.

The arrested woman is expected to appear in court later.
