Those that follow the carnival festivities religiously will have had a full weekend. Those who don’t, may be looking for other cultural events to be entertained in the upcoming week. In any case, a piano recital next Sunday invites all.
Joining the busy spring agenda at the Rialto Theatre is an evening of piano melodies with highly acclaimed Cypriot pianist Yiannis Georgiou.
The virtuoso soloist will present an exciting recital programme with distinctly different musical styles, creating a musical journey through contrasting musical languages, landscapes and means of expression. Georgiou will interpret works by the great masters Mozart, Debussy, Brahms and Rachmaninoff, in four varied groups, alongside works by Scarlatti and Scriabin.
He has played as a soloist in the UK, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Switzerland and Germany. His studies have also taken him around the world, to Trinity College of Music in London and to the Tchaikovsky Conservatoire in Moscow, where he graduated with the Aspirant Diploma and is the only Cypriot pianist to have received this award.
