Bar attack suspects arrested

Police arrested two men on Monday evening in connection with a smash-and-grab at a Limassol bar in the early hours of Monday morning.

The two men, aged 29 and 40, rode on a motorcycle into the foyer of the bar, which was open for business at the time. They then used a metal bar to smash up the windows and equipment at the premises, causing damage estimated at around €10,000.

The perpetrators also assaulted the two owners of the establishment. After grabbing some €3,000 in cash, they fled the scene.

Arrest warrants were issued against the two suspects and they were picked up late on Monday evening. They are expected to appear in court for remand orders on Tuesday.
