Take a hike with YEU

Spring is here, the weather finally seems to be clearing up and almond trees are blossoming. It’s a stunning time of the year in Cyprus and with all of the heavy rain we’ve experienced, the island’s fields and mountains are greener than ever. Now is the perfect time to take in the gorgeous landscape views on a hike.

Before the heat takes over, March until May are good months to immerse yourself in Cyprus’ nature and be outdoors. There are dozens of nature trails to cross and views to see. So, NGO YEU Cyprus is organising a second hiking event later this month after a successful first outing three months ago.

On March 23 the YEU hiking experience will take in Atalanti, Troodos. The trail to be tackled is 14km long so comfortable walking shoes and a water bottle are needed. And seeing as the trip will last all day with an approximated 5pm return to Nicosia, pack some lunch to eat on the way.

The schedule will leave YEU’s Cyprus office in Nicosia at 8.30am, arrive in Troodos at 10am and hike from then until 3pm with a break to eat and rest, before return to the city. Attending the event costs €8 per person which covers bus transport and organisation fees. Those interested should register via the following link:
