Child pornography arrest in Paphos

Police arrested a man for possession of child pornography on Thursday in Paphos.

The arrest was made after the electronic crime prevention unit was informed by Europol that an account holder on a social media site sent a video containing child porn to another user.

Evidence pointed to the involvement of the 38-year-old subject and officers went to search his home.

A computer, a mobile phone and an electronic data storage device were seized to facilitate further investigations.

The arrest comes just hours after the Limassol district court jailed a 35-year-old man for two years for possessing and distributing child pornography.
