Speeding driver had been drinking, taking drugs

A 39-year-old woman was arrested on the highway on Saturday night driving 150km per hour where the limit is 100.

According to a police announcement on Sunday, the woman from Russia was stopped on the Larnaca to Limassol highway near Anglisides as she was returning to Limassol.

An alcotest showed 37μg instead of the permitted 22, while a narcotest showed she had been using cocaine and amphetamines.

She was taken to Kofinou police station where she was charged in writing and released to appear before court at a later date.
