Suspected car arson in Nicosia

A fire broke out Monday night in a vehicle in the Ayios Pavlos area of Nicosia, causing extensive damage.

According to a statement from the fire service, at around 8.20pm they received a call about a car fire on Icarus Street.

Paphos Gate fire brigade responded with two fire engines and the blaze was under control by 8.45pm, the service said. The vehicle sustained extensive damage.

The causes of the fire will be investigated on Tuesday in collaboration with police, who suspect arson.
