More cannabis washed ashore in Akamas area

Between 30 and 35 kilos of cannabis were recovered in the Akamas area on Tuesday after they were apparently washed ashore, police said.

The find followed the seizure of 28kg of the drug after they had washed ashore in nearby Peyia last Thursday.

Police could not immediately provide any details but reports said the packaging of Tuesday’s haul was similar to the one used to wrap cannabis a member of the public had found last week on the Peyia shore.

The drug squad was trying to determine whether the drugs had been dumped by traffickers for some reason.
