Four arrested for setting fires in two separate incidents

Four young men were arrested in the early hours of Sunday, charged and released, after they set fires in open spaces in the Limassol area in two separate incidents.

According to police, two were spotted hanging around a fire at around 10.30pm by a patrol checking for fires and people setting off firecrackers in the run-up to Easter.

One male aged 23 and the other 17 were arrested, charged with loitering and igniting a fire without a permit, and released.

In the second incident in the Ayios Nikolaos area of Limassol just before dawn, the same patrol nabbed another two aged 22 and 18 who were also charged with the same offences and later released.
