School for the Blind ‘not closing’, parents association says

The Pancyprian Association of Parents of Blind Children said on Monday that the School for the Blind in Nicosia was not closing down despite rumours to that effect that have been circulating since mid-March.

“Based on the statements of the minister of education and culture on 25 March 2019 and in consultation with all stakeholders, not only will the Blind School not close, but we are working in full cooperation with the ministry to set an example for the transformation of all other special schools when it comes to centres of unified education,” a statement from the association said.
