Man remanded over child pornography (Updated)

 

A 35-year-old man, a resident of Nicosia, who is suspected of child pornography was remanded for four days on Wednesday.

The session in court took place behind closed doors due to the nature of the offence.

The suspect’s home was first searched on April 7 after information was received from the cybercrime unit which said child porn had been downloaded using a specific e-mail address.

During the search of the premises, two computers and a hard drive were seized on which pornographic content was allegedly found.

Following this discovery, police proceeded with the man’s arrest on Tuesday.
